What will Daniel Radcliffe's post-"Harry Potter" career look like? In a word: unpredictable. The 21-year-old is currently singing and dancing on Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and has already wrapped production on a spooky thriller called "The Woman in Black."
Following the appearance of photos of Radcliffe in his "Woman in Black" getup (fancy tie, waistcoat, sideburns), a teaser trailer for the film is now online.
While we can't verify the trailer's rather bold claim that the movie tells "the most chilling ghost story of our time," we can say that the film seems to be a whole lot creepier than we expected. Based on a 1983 novel by Susan Hill, the supernatural thriller follows Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe) as a young lawyer who's dispatched to sort out a recently deceased client's affairs, only to discover the nearby town is haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman. Radcliffe, alas, doesn't get to offer up much in the teaser beyond some startled looks.
Last November, while promoting "Deathly Hallows, Part 1" during a break from production on "Woman in Black," Radcliffe raved about working on an indie film instead of a blockbuster franchise.
"We're doing, like, five or six scenes a day, as opposed to seven set-ups, which is probably what we got on 'Potter,' " he said. "So it's faster. I'm loving it. It's very, very exciting."
The film is set for release in the U.K. on October 28, but there's not yet a U.S. release date. Radcliffe will next be seen onscreen in July in "Deathly Hallows, Part 2."
